La Maison des Histoires - The House of Stories, Opens in Paris

Just last week I was invited to Paris by Tomi's French children's book publisher, École des Loisirs, to discover their newly refurbished bookshop, Chantelivre, as well as a brand new space called La Maison des Histoires - The House of Stories - the first ever book centered play museum in France.  And it is just fantastic!  The interactive space is designed and built just for kids and brings to life several of book titles, including L'Ogre de Zeralda - Zeralda's Ogre .  As a child, how wonderful to be able to literally step inside some of your favourite books and interact with the scenography and characters directly and to physically become one with the world of your favourite book!

La Maison des Histoires space will also be used for workshops with artists, various educational events and including interactive and participatory storytelling, film screenings, performances and much more.  We are so honoured to be a part of this project and I'd like to take this opportunity to congratulate the whole team at École des Loisirs for creating something so enchanting and I think forward looking.  I wish them the very best of luck with the endeavour and look forward to working together with them on many collaborations in this brand new space.  I know that Tomi would have absolutely loved it and would have been especially delighted to have Zeralda sharing space with his friend Maurice Sendak's Where the Wild Things Are and his friend Claude Ponti's Poussins among the other fabulous titles which are brought to life in the new space.
